SOMERSET COUNTY, Pa. (WJAC) — A Somerset man is accused of sexually assaulting a young girl for more than a decade starting in 2006, state police say. According to charging documents filed by state police, 39-year-old Eric Burnsworth faces charges of child rape, aggravated indecent assault, corruption of minors and involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child. Troopers say they received a referral from Children and Youth Services in May about the sexual abuse of a preteen girl.

UPDATE | Cambria County coroner Jeff Lees has identified the victim of Friday morning's coal truck crash along Route 56, near Windber Stadium. Lees says 35-year-old Justin Robine was transported to Conemaugh Hospital after crashing his tri-axle into a tree, just before 5 a.m., and being ejected from the vehicle. Officials say he was pronounced dead in the ICU around 11 a.m. Friday. The coroner's office has determined his cause of death as a head injury due to blunt force trauma.

CAMBRIA COUNTY, Pa. (WJAC) — The Johnstown Tomahawks hockey team announced Wednesday they are now under new ownership. In a statement sent to 6 News, they say the team was purchased by a group of local investors known as Tomahawks Hockey Partners, LLC. It said the new owners are committed to keeping the team in Johnstown and playing at 1st Summit Arena at the Cambria County War Memorial. The statement said John Koufis is the majority investor of the new group and includes other investors Craig Saylor, William Polacek, John Polacek, Gary Poborsky, William Bahorik, Daniel Thompson and Chris Martella.

Westmoreland County, PA — Authorities in Westmoreland County say a Boswell man who pleaded guilty to fatally striking a bicyclist in Ligonier Township nearly four years ago has been sentenced. Officials with the Westmoreland County District Attorney's office say Adam Ulrich, now age 45, was sentenced Tuesday to spend 5 to 10 years in prison. Ulrich was charged in June of 2021 following an investigation into a fatal vehicle versus bicycle crash on Route 30 in October of 2019.
