MARTINSBURG, Pa. (WJAC) — The Hollidaysburg American Legion Ambulance Service is holding its second annual Emergency Awareness Day this weekend.
The event features music, family friendly activities and several educational resources. It raises money for the purchase of new equipment that benefits the ambulance service.
Multiple emergency management services will be on hand to educate people about general safety procedures.
Legion member Jonathan Rea says the group hopes to increase the event's exposure, as it helps both the community and emergency service personnel get to know each other.

Advanced ticket sales are strong for Friday's showing of "Casablanca," and at $5 a pop, patrons are in for a treat.

Johnstown, PA (WJAC) — Johnstown police have filed charges against the individual suspected of shooting and killing another man in the Moxham-section of the city last month.
Authorities have identified the shooter as 18-year-old Michael Cogdell, of Pittsburgh.
On January 23rd, police were called to the 600 block of Park Ave. for a report of a gunshot victim.
The victim, who was later identified as 41-year-old Marvin Price, was reportedly shot multiple times by another man near the former St.
SCHELLSBURG, Pa. (WJAC) — The Pennsylvania Lumberjack Championship and Outdoor Show closed out its three-day tournament Sunday, bringing thousands to Bedford County throughout the weekend.
Lumberjacking isn't easy to perfect. But to win these competitions, you got to have the chops.
"This is definitely one of the top competitions to go to in the United States at the moment," said professional timber sport athlete Matthew Cogar.
In its seventh year, Bedford County native and organizer Zach Brouse told 6 News the lumberjack championship had 51 competitors, with ESPN-caliber athletes.
'Kayce' from 'Yellowstone' visits East Palestine, helps those impacted by train derailment

EAST PALESTINE, Ohio (NBC) — Actor Luke Grimes, who plays "Kayce" in the hit series "Yellowstone," was in East Palestine, Ohio Friday morning.
The Ohio native was on hand to give away 250 water filtration systems to local residents who have been impacted by February’s toxic train derailment.
Grimes signed autographs and took pictures with fans.
After hearing about the derailment, the actor knew he had to help.
“Ah you know, I don't know why or what went on or what the miscommunication was but obviously something happened here that needed to be addressed and it wasn't and I’m not sure why but these people need help and this is not okay,” Grimes said.
HARRISBURG, Pa. (WJAC) — The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission announced Tuesday a new state record flathead catfish.
The record catch was made by 54-year-old angler Jeff Bonawitz on the Susquehanna River in York County.
The catfish weighed 50 pounds, 7 ounces, and measured 45.25 inches long, setting the unofficial new state record for the species, according to the release.
