DUBOIS, Pa. (WJAC) — The Western Pennsylvania Police Athletic League (WPAL) in DuBois held its annual Winter Warrior Showdown weightlifting competition Saturday. The proceeds from the competition go toward the WPAL's youth programs.
"People like tend to think that like weight-lifting's kind of get hard into, but it's really easy," lifter Nathan Shaffer, 18, told 6 News. "You just go to a gym, you'll see if there's a competition or something, and then you lift up the big, heavy circles.
HEATH TOWNSHIP, Pa. (WJAC) — Members of a Jefferson County sportsman club are asking for help after they say 8,000 fish from their nursery were killed by flooding that washed through Thursday night.
The Heath Township Sportsman Club is now asking the community to help dispose of the fish.
Volunteers are told to gather their buckets, shovels and gloves and to meet at the raceway off of State Route 949 at noon Saturday.
STATE COLLEGE, Pa (WJAC) — State College police are investigating a reported theft at the Walmart along Benner Pike, according to a release.
Police say the theft reportedly occurred on Saturday, Feb. 8, around 3 p.m. The suspect is described as a white male with a distinct neck tattoo, according to police.
Authorities urge anyone with information regarding the theft to contact the State College Police Department at (814) 234-7150, by email or by submitting an anonymous tip on their website.
PUNXSUTAWNEY - Scott Anthony, owner of Punxsy Pizza, took part in the "World's Longest Pizza" event Saturday at Auto Club Speedway in California.
Anthony was the only pizza chef from Pennsylvania to help create the 1.3 mile-long pizza that broke the Guinness World Record.
The finished pizza stretched 6,333 feet, used 8,000 pounds of dough, 6,000 pounds of sauce and 5,600 pounds of cheese.
The previous record of 6,082 feet was made in Naples, Italy in 2016.

TYRONE TOWNSHIP, Pa.-- A mixed martial arts fighter accused of assaulting a woman. State police said the man tried to run the woman off the road Sunday.
"He was apparently tailgating her and eventually passed her and forced her to stop her vehicle," said Trooper David McGarvey, State Police Hollidaysburg.
Police said Brett Shoenfelt was behind the wheel. They said he is a local amateur mixed martial arts fighter. Police said he knew the victim but it remains unclear why he allegedly attacked her.
CLEARFIELD COUNTY, Pa. (WJAC) — Investigators with the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections say a corrections officer at SCI Houtzdale is facing charges after planning to bring contraband to the prison in exchange for money last week.
Investigators say the DOC was told by a confidential informant that Marvin Harris Jr. was coordinating with an inmate to bring Suboxone and papers soaked with synthetic cannabinoids to the prison in exchange for $2,500.
Flu season is not just affecting humans, dogs are now experiencing a rise in cases of canine influenza.
There have been reports nationwide of a surge in cases this winter that are highly contagious. Experts are urging pet owners to vaccinate their dogs and practice avoidance.
The CDC states that Canine influenza, or dog flu, is a contagious respiratory disease in dogs caused by specific Type A influenza viruses. Currently there are two different influenza A dog flu viruses: one is an H3N8 virus and the other is an H3N2 virus.
WASHINGTON (TND) — Comedian Rosie O’Donnell sent an encouraging message to Michael Choen, a former Trump attorney, before his Monday court testimony, according to the New York Times.
Cohen is one of several witnesses testifying in the hush money trial against Trump. He told prosecutors details about Trump’s past and tied him to alleged schemes to cover up stories that could have damaged Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign.
Just before taking the stand Monday, Cohen received a message from O’Donnell reading “breathe - relax - tell the truth - u got this - i love u,” the New York Times wrote.
