HUNTINGDON CO, Pa (WJAC) — According to a release from the Department of Corrections, SCI Smithfield officials have reported the prison's first COVID-19 death among inmates.
Authorities say the inmate, whose name will not be released, was a 77-year-old male with underlying health conditions.
Officials say he had been transferred to a hospital in Clearfield County to receive care.

STATE COLLEGE - Another Penn State fraternity is in trouble with the law.
Police said after a party at Alpha Chi Rho late last month two 18-year-old women were found intoxicated on Locust Lane.
Both of the women had blood-alcohol levels that were close to three times the legal limit of 0.08 percent.
Both were hospitalized for alcohol poisoning.
Alpha Chi Rho was placed on one year of probation in mid-July and lost recognition for a hazing incident.
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - Former Penn State head football athletic trainer and Beta Theta Pi advisor Tim Bream has a new job.
According to a spokesman at the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga, Bream was hired as the university's Head Athletic Trainer.
The spokesman said that Bream "was thoroughly vetted" during the hiring process and started March 2.
According to his bio on the school's website, Bream's tenure at Penn State is not listed as previous experience.

Electronic hunting devices deemed legal

PATTON -- Deer season is just a week away, and hunters have a few more options after a handful of devices were deemed legal in Pennsylvania over the weekend.
Hunters can now use electronic decoys for waterfowl and doves, electronically heated scent or lure dispensers and machines that emit ozone gas to disguise human smells from nearby animals.
The Board of Game Commissioners approved the move for in September.

FULTON COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — Authorities in Fulton County are providing new details on the investigation into the "suspicious" death of an infant child.
Last week, it was reported that the body of an infant was found along the roadside, in McConnellsburg Borough, on the morning of March 11th.
Now, officials have identified the child as an infant male, weighing approximately four pounds and was "estimated to be 36-37 weeks gestational age.
