HUNTINGDON - The Huntingdon County commissioners have fired EMA Director John Cirko. According to Huntingdon County Chief Clerk Michelle Barnett, Cirko was terminated Tuesday at the commissioner's meeting. She said she was unable to discuss the reasoning behind the termination. Cirko has been the EMA director for the county since 2015. Barnett said that Chris Stevens is the acting director and that the position is posted on the county's website.

Officials say first responders were dispatched to Ridge Limestone Inc., located in Young Township, around 10:30 a.m. Friday. Troopers say the suspect, identified as 28-year-old Dylan Robert Clark Rider, of Homer City, is alleged to have presented a note to the bank staff and then left with an undisclosed amount of cash. Upon further investigation, police say they learned that Rider fled the scene in a white, 2010 Chrysler Sebring, and that he acted alone.
