The Pennsylvania Game Commission says Ruby-throated hummingbirds typically arrive in the sate right around May 1, but in early springs such as this year's, there are usually some early arrivals. One of PA's surest signs that spring is upon us, the Game Commission says that hummingbirds create no harm to the state's ecological system and are welcomed guests.

People lined up well before the start of the service at the New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Stonecrest to file past the open coffin and say their goodbyes to Fortson, who was shot six times by a deputy responding to a May 3 call about a possible domestic violence situation at Fortson's apartment complex in the Florida Panhandle.

A bill intended to protect against LGBTQ+ rights passed through the PA House yesterday. The vote was 102-98 in favor of the “Fairness Act.” Officials said the intent is to give those in the LGBTQ+ community protections like they would with race. Supporters say LGBTQ+ people in Pennsylvania can be discriminated in employment, housing, and other areas. They said there is a bill protecting against discrimination for race, religion, age, gender, and disabilities, and they want to add the LGBTQ+ community to that.

RICHLAND TOWNSHIP - Losing your hair because of medical treatments can be traumatic, but a salon in Richland Township is helping people by pairing them with natural wigs. Niccola’s Hair Salon started the program in January and has helped about 30 people since they started. One of her clients is Connie Simmons. She recently started chemotherapy to help battle her cancer. “My first thought was my family; my second thought was I'm going to lose my hair,” said Simmons.
