PITTSBURGH (AP/WJAC) — Pittsburgh Steelers defensive coordinator Keith Butler retired on Saturday, less than a week after his 19th season with the team ended in a blowout playoff loss to Kansas City.
The 65-year-old Butler, who spent 10 seasons as a linebacker for the Seattle Seahawks in the 1970s and 80s before getting into coaching, helped the Steelers win two Super Bowls and reach another during his nearly two decades with the team.
ALTOONA -- Dick's Sporting Goods announced Wednesday that its stores will no longer sell assault-style rifles, and the stores have restricted all gun purchases to customers 21 or older.
The Dick's stores stopped selling assault-style rifles after the Sandy Hook mass shooting, but continued to sell them in Field & Stream stores. Now, neither store will sell them.

UPDATE | Cambria Co., PA (WJAC) — After nearly ten hours of deliberations, which began Wednesday afternoon, spanned into the night and continued Thursday morning, a jury has reached a verdict in the trial of political commentator Cliff Maloney Jr., who is accused of drugging and raping a woman at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown in 2013.
The jury found Maloney not guilty on four of the six charges he faced, which included rape of an impaired person, rape of an unconscious victim, aggravated indecent assault of an impaired person and aggravated indecent assault of an unconscious person.
LATROBE, Pa. — The Pittsburgh Steelers have officially released their 2023 training camp schedule.
The Black & Gold will once again take over Saint Vincent College in Latrobe for the 56th year.
Team officials say the first public practice will be held on Thursday, July 27th, and the first padded practice will take place on August 1st.
The team also released the date of the annual "Friday Night Lights" practice, which will be held on August 4th.
WISCONSIN (TND) — Wildfire smoke from Canada has reached the United States and an air quality advisory has been issued for multiple states. The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) issued an air quality advisory in nearly 60 counties and warned the entire state could be impacted by smoke Monday. PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. (WPEC) — A man is behind bars after the dog he adopted was found decapitated and floating in the mangroves, the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office says.
According to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office, Domingo Rodriguez adopted Dexter, a 4-year-old bulldog mix, from the Pinellas County Animal Services on May 10.
Four days later deputies responded to the area of East Beach at Fort DeSoto Park after reports came in about a deceased dog that was wrapped in a plastic bag.
BLAIR COUNTY, Pa. (WJAC) — Blair County District Attorney Pete Weeks announced his intent to officially run for District Attorney Tuesday.
Retired longtime Blair County District Attorney, Rich Consiglio, formally endorsed Weeks, who had been acting as the DA since Consiglio’s retirement last year.
He was officially sworn in last April to fulfill the remainder of Consiglio’s term.
Weeks' office is working on community outreach within area schools.
Once things get back to normal, he wants specialized prosecutors and “front line law enforcement” to go into area schools and speak to students about drug abuse, human trafficking, social media pitfalls and other emerging dangers that target children.
