Robert Hale Jr. was the commencement speaker at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's 2024 ceremony. He gifted the roughly 1,200 new graduates some extra cash. Dove is working to outlaw “body size discrimination” in the U.S., something it believes should be a crime in all 50 states. ALTOONA, Pa (WJAC) — Axe throwing has quickly become one of the most popular new indoor sports and now residents in the Altoona area can try it out. Thursday was the grand opening for Slingers Throw House in Altoona. The mayor and other local officials attended the ribbon-cutting. Each lane features two wooden targets and the goal is to get that axe to stick. The owner says it’s a fun way to let off some steam.

UPDATE #2 |Cambria County Coroner Jeff Lees has released the identity of Saturday morning's shooting victim in front of the Liquid Currency bar in Cambria City. Lees identified the victim as 21-year-old Caleb Beppler. Lees said the shooting occurred just after 3:30 in the morning and that Beppler was pronounced dead at the scene. A confirmed tornado was on the ground around 7 p.m. Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service in Chicago. "This tornado has been touching the ground intermittently so far and is moving east. There are additional circulations along the line south of O'Hare. Seek shelter if in the warned area,"

WAWAYANDA, N.Y. (TND) — A bus carrying 40 students and four adults from a New York high school was involved in a deadly rollover crash Thursday. State Police said the bus wrecked along Interstate 84 in Wawayanda just before 1:15 p.m., killing two people, including 43-year-old Gina Pellettiere, of Massapequa, and 77-year-old Beatrice Ferarri, of Farmingdale. At least five others were seriously hurt. They remain in critical condition. Their identities were not immediately known.

CENTRE COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — A former inmate at the Centre County Prison has filed a federal lawsuit claiming the lack of medical treatment and other conditions at the prison are "shameful.” Jessica Tressler says she was an inmate at the prison in April of 2022. She claims despite being in severe pain, she wasn't properly treated at the prison for opiate withdrawal and an infection, and was eventually transferred to a hospital for heart valve surgery.
