CLEARFIELD COUNTY, Pa. (WJAC)-- — Treasure Lake security officers were able to see the results of their actions Saturday when an owl they saved a month ago was able to be released. The owl was released around the entrance to Treasure Lake in Clearfield County around 5 p.m. after coming back from Tamarack Wildlife Center near Erie, Treasure Lake security officer David Beck said. According to Beck, he was on duty about a month ago and found the owl down over a bank, which had been struck by a car.

FERNDALE BOROUGH, Pa. (WJAC) — Several area crews battled a fire Saturday evening at an abandoned home in Ferndale Borough. Officials say the fire broke out just before 6 p.m. Saturday at a home along the 500 block of Vickroy Ave. According to Upper Yoder Township police chief Donald Hess, one officer was transported for treatment of smoke inhalation after rushing into a neighboring home when the flames began to spread.
University Park, PA (WJAC) — Penn State officials say they're mourning the loss of a student who was killed in a Colorado skiing accident this past weekend. Twenty-two-year-old Nick Feinstein was skiing with his father, Andy, when they were trapped by an avalanche Saturday, according to a report from the Greeley Tribune. In a statement to 6 News, university officials said their hearts go out to the Feinstein family and those who knew them.

Centre Co., PA (WJAC) — A second victim has come forward to file a lawsuit against a New England-area gymnastics coach over allegations of sexual misconduct which reportedly occurred at the Woodward Gymnastics Camp in Centre County. The new lawsuit, filed on behalf of a Canadian woman, claims that now 26-year-old Nathaniel Singer pursued an intimate relationship with a junior counselor, in 2016, when she was just 17-years-old. According to the lawsuit, the victim claims that other campers and staff members were aware of Singer's advances towards her and states that the camp rehired him despite his admittance to the alleged misconduct.
