FORT HILL, Pa. (WJAC) — Authorities have released new information regarding a teen's death after a fall near a YMCA camp in Somerset County.
According to Somerset officials, a 15-year-old boy fell from rocks near the Cove Rocks on state forest property of Mount Davis Road.
The incident happened near the Deer Valley YMCA Family Camp just before 12:30 p.m. Monday. The Norwin School District identified the teen as rising sophomore Nathan Kanczes.
It's the 100th anniversary of Fire Prevention Week and the Spangler Fire Company in Northern Cambria is giving back to their community.
The Spangler Fire Company applied for a FEMA grant this past year and was awarded 16 thousand dollars.

Indiana County, PA (WJAC) — Indiana County coroner Jerry Overman has identified the man who was shot and killed by state police over the weekend following a high-speed chase.
Overman says 51-year-old John Vincent Dye suffered multiple gunshot wounds following the officer-involved shooting that occurred late Sunday night.
Investigators say troopers attempted to conduct a traffic stop in Center Township, when Dye fled the scene and a pursuit was initiated.

The district attorney dropped all charges against Daniel Gwynn, citing bad and corrupt police work in his case.
Gwynn was accused of starting a fire at an abandoned building in west Philadelphia that killed Marsha Smith.
According to the DA, the prosecution in Gwynn’s case relied on witness testimony, who told police that he had started the fire.
