CAMBRIA COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — 911 officials in Cambria County say eight people were transported to Conemaugh Hospital Tuesday night following a fire at Richland Healthcare and Rehabilitation. Authorities say the fire broke out just before 8 p.m. at the nursing care facility, which is located along the 300 block of Vo Tech Drive in Richland Township. Richland Fire Chief Wes Myers says the fire started near a HVAC unit and crews were able to contain the blaze to a singular room, which sustained smoke damage.

LIGONIER - A Westmoreland County emergency dispatcher said a boy fell from a wooden roller coaster at Idlewild amusement park Thursday afternoon. Park spokesman Jeff Croushore told the Associated Press he doesn't know the boy's condition or where he was on the ride when he fell. Croushore said he couldn't say whether the ride malfunctioned or if horseplay was involved. The Rollo Coaster opened in 1938 and takes riders up, down and around a wooded hillside.

MIDDLETOWN, R.I. (WJAR) — Several dogs the were recently rescued from a hoarding situation in a Rhode Island home have not survived. The dogs captured the hearts of people across the state when they were rescued from a Pawtucket house last month. While the majority are now doing well, sadly, some couldn't be saved. The Rhode Island Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RISPCA) said about seven of the dogs have died across the various shelters helping them recover.
